CODE41
Analysis Software for Corrugated Containers

  • A quantum leap in box analysis software for IBM-PC compatible computers
  • Predict compression strength from paper properties
  • Determine the lowest cost linerboard and corrugating medium
In a unique collaboration with the Forest Products Laboratory research on paper as a structural material has been incorporated within expert system software called CODE41. With CODE41 the user can predict box compression strength from stress-strain properties of the constituent paperboards. This software tool will help producers and users of corrugated fiberboard who want to
  • Design containers based on the paperboard components
  • Determine how changing the basis weight of one component affects the most efficient weight combination of other components
  • Analyze the effect of changes in the paperboard properties on box compression strength
  • Create a new flute profile for greater box compression strength
  • Predict how humidity induced changes to paper affect box compression strength
  • Minimize material costs
