With the powerful calibration
features of program CAL, CODE41 is made adaptable to user
test methods. CAL evaluates the constants in the postbuckling theory
of ECT and RSC in accordance with the instrumentation used
in determining inputs to PPR. This calibration feature enables PPR
to work with less than a complete set of inputs and broadens the predictability
of box strength. A set of default calibrations based on common testing
methods and average containerboard performance is provided.
